Hi, my name is Jacquelyn Rucker. I am a marriage and family clinical intern who offers low-cost therapy.

About Our Interns

Graduate clinical interns have spent the last several years of intense research, study, and craft development. Like any good therapist, they possess the following qualities: integrity, empathy, deep compassion, cultural humility, critical self-reflection, and the ability to humanize you and your experience. Clinical Interns have completed a four-year degree and another two years of coursework in an accredited Master's Degree program.

Benefits of Working With Clinical Interns

When working with a clinical intern, you get the best of both worlds because:

  • They are doubly supervised by school and site supervisors who monitor and provide feedback about our work. (Two for the price of One!).
  • They have a fresh perspective with their finger on the 'pulse' of current trends, practices, and research in mental health.
  • They have more availability for therapy sessions and rarely have a waiting list.
  • Their fees are significantly lower than current market rates.
  • They have access to the latest developments in cultural awareness, cross-cultural barriers, and competent care.
  • Their short-term services mean they work hard to get results sooner.

Change The Narrative

Are you tired of the old script running in your head that makes you feel helpless and disempowered? What if you can design your life so you won't have to keep playing it small? What if you could rewrite the story of the main character (you) to feel more confident and empowered?

Individual Therapy

I use Narrative Therapy to help people feel more empowered and less victimized by their lives or thoughts. I can help you become the author of your life instead of the bystander. My goal is to help you overcome personal and relationship challenges, improve your self-esteem, and prioritize your self-care.

Couples Therapy

I integrate Narrative Therapy and Solution-focused Therapy approaches when working with families and couples. In employing Narrative Therapy, I collaborate with clients to explore the stories they tell about their relationships and identities. Examining these narratives can identify patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and co-author new, more empowering stories. Additionally, Solution-focused Therapy allows us to focus on solutions rather than dwelling excessively on problems. Together, we set clear, achievable goals and emphasize the strengths and resources within the family or couple. By highlighting successes and small changes, we cultivate hope and motivation for further progress. These combined approaches foster collaboration, resilience, and positive change within the familial and relational dynamics.

I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and am currently earning my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.

Low-Cost Therapy

Inner Coach Counseling believes it is our responsibility to make healthcare more accessible by providing therapeutic services at affordable rates.

I accept Cigna Insurance. While working toward completing my Master's degree program, I offer a below-market rate of $30 per session and $45 for family and couples therapy. Under some circumstances, I accept a limited amount of ProBono slots through the equitable pricing plans developed by the owner because we at

My services are supervised by Gena Golden, LCSW, clinical site supervisor.
